How to extract pages from a PDF
Extracting is the opposite of deleting: you pick the pages you want and get a new PDF with only those. It suits sending one payslip out of a year’s worth, sharing the signature page of a contract, or pulling a single chapter out of a long manual. Pick pages by clicking thumbnails or by typing them; the two stay in sync, so you can mix both methods.
- 1
Open your PDF
Choose or drop your file to see every page.
- 2
Pick pages
Click thumbnails (Shift-click for a run) or type ranges like 2, 4-6, 9-end.
- 3
Download
Save as one PDF, or as one file per page in a ZIP.

Extracting pages without uploading: what happens to your file
Your file stays in this browser tab while you choose; the new PDF is put together on your device and downloaded directly.
The chosen pages are copied into a new document unchanged, including annotations on those pages, so text remains selectable and images keep their quality. Pages always come out in their original document order; if you need a different order, rearrange them afterwards in Organize pages. The source PDF is left as it was.
Pulling four pages out of a contract
A 14-page agreement needs only the schedule on page 2 and the signature pages 4 to 6 sent to a colleague. Click page 2, then click page 4 and Shift-click page 6. The range box now reads 2, 4-6, and the button says “Extract 4 pages”. Choose One PDF to get a single 4-page file, or One file per page to get a ZIP of four single-page PDFs. Typing 2, 4-6 yourself highlights the same thumbnails.
Good to know
- Invert flips your selection, which is the quickest way to “keep everything except” a few pages.
- “end” always means the last page, so
10-endworks without knowing the page count. - If you want several files from ranges in one go, Split PDF handles that.
- Password-protected files need unlocking first, using the password you already have.

Extract pages: frequently asked questions
Are links and annotations kept?
Annotations on the pages you extract, such as comments and highlights, are preserved. Links that pointed to pages you left out will no longer have anywhere to go.
Can I get each page as its own file?
Yes. Choose One file per page; you’ll get a ZIP with one PDF per selected page.
Can I change the order of the extracted pages?
Pages come out in their original order. To reorder them, open the result in Organize pages.
What’s the difference between Extract and Split?
Extract makes one new file (or one per page) from the pages you pick. Split divides the whole document into several files by ranges, chunks or bookmarks.
Does the original PDF lose those pages?
No. Extracting copies pages into a new file; the original on your device is not changed.
