How to reorder, delete and rotate PDF pages

Organize (or organise, if you prefer) is the all-in-one page workbench. Use it when a scanned document came out in the wrong order, when a report has blank pages you want gone, or when you need to slot a signed page from another file into the right place. You see every page as a thumbnail and can move, rotate, delete, duplicate and add pages, with a full undo history, before saving one clean PDF.

  1. 1

    Open your PDF

Every page appears as a thumbnail you can resize with the zoom slider.

  2. 2

    Rearrange

Drag to reorder; rotate, duplicate or delete; insert blank pages or pages from another PDF.

  3. 3

    Save

Check the change summary, then download your reorganised PDF.

Organize pages features

  • Drag and drop to reorder pages
  • Rotate, duplicate or delete pages
  • Insert blank pages or pages from another PDF
  • Undo and redo every change before you save
  • Odd and even quick-select for duplex scans
  • Keyboard reordering with Space and the arrow keys

What happens when you rearrange pages

Thumbnails are drawn on your device and the new PDF is assembled in your browser, so the document never leaves this tab.

Saving builds a new file from your page list. Moving and deleting pages doesn’t touch their content, and rotation only changes each page’s rotation setting, so quality is preserved exactly. Inserted blank pages take the size of the page next to them. Deleted pages are left out of the new file entirely, not just hidden.

Until you download, nothing is final: every action can be undone, and Reset all changes takes you back to the original order.

Worked example

Fixing a 12-page scan

Your scanner fed a 12-page contract with the signature page last and two blank backs at pages 2 and 5. Click page 2, Ctrl-click page 5 and press Delete. Drag the final page to the front, then select page 3 (now upside down) and press R twice to turn it 180°. The summary shows 2 deleted, 1 reordered and 1 rotated, and the output has 10 pages in the order you see on screen. Deleted the wrong one? Ctrl+Z restores it in its original place.

Good to know

  • Select runs of pages with Shift-click, or use the Odd and Even quick-select buttons, handy for removing blank backs from duplex scans.
  • Keyboard users can pick up a page with Space, move it with the arrow keys and drop it with Space again. The full shortcut list is in the options panel.
  • A PDF must keep at least one page, so the tool won’t let you delete them all.
  • If you only need to turn pages, Rotate PDF is simpler; for pulling pages out into a new file, use Extract pages.

Organize pages: frequently asked questions

Can I undo a deleted page?

Yes. Undo (Ctrl+Z) restores it in place, and Redo (Ctrl+Shift+Z) puts the change back. History is kept until you download or start over.

Can I add pages from another PDF?

Yes. Use the add option to bring in another PDF; its pages join the grid and can be moved anywhere. You can also insert a blank page after the selected one.

Can I reorder pages with the keyboard?

Yes. Focus a page, press Space to pick it up, move it with the arrow keys, then press Space to drop it, or Escape to cancel.

Are deleted pages really gone?

Yes. Deleted pages are left out of the saved file completely. Your original PDF on your device is not changed.

Does it work with very long documents?

Thumbnails are drawn as you scroll, so long documents stay usable. Very large files depend on your device’s memory; we show a warning if one looks heavy.
